Bulgaria is mostly mountainous, with a coastline on the Black Sea. In Bulgaria most of the country is used for human activities, in its majority by rainfed agriculture. The rarity of marine fish and mammals is also high. Challenges to biodiversity include industrial air pollution and acid rain; water pollution; deforestation; and soil pollution.
