Species Protection Index

The Species Protection Index (SPI) is a measure used to quantify how well a defined area is doing to protect the native species living in their area. The SPI can be applied to nation states to calculate a National Species Protection Index (NSPI) The NSPI appears on the Half-Earth Project National Report Cards and Half-Earth Project Map along with other measures that rank how well various countries are doing when it comes to biodiversity stewardship.
