Species Information Index

The Species Information Index refers to a database or index that compiles and provides comprehensive information about various species, including their taxonomy, distribution, habitat requirements, and conservation status. The SII is an Essential Biodiversity Variable promoted by GEO BON and recently adopted by over 200 countries in the Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Agreement at COP15.
