Species Habitat Score

Species Habitat Score is a metric used to assess the quality and suitability of a habitat for a particular species. It considers various factors such as food availability, shelter, and other environmental conditions that are essential for the species’ survival. The SHS is an Essential Biodiversity Variable promoted by GEO BON and recently adopted by over 200 countries in the Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Agreement at COP15.
