Kyrgyzstan’s terrain is completely mountainous, with an average elevation of 2,750 m. The Tien Shan range dominates a landscape and contains many tall peaks, glaciers, and high-altitude lakes. In Kyrgyzstan most of the country is used for human activities, in its majority by rangeland.
Challenges to biodiversity include water pollution; soil salinity; and air pollution.
