Serbia is a landlocked country in Southeastern Europe. Its diverse terrain includes mountains, fertile plains, and limestone basins, with the Danube River crossing west to east. In Serbia most of the country is used for human activities, in its majority by rainfed agriculture. Challenges to biodiversity include urban air pollution; water pollution; and poor waste management.
