Finland borders the Atlantic Ocean in Northern Europe. Terrain is low and rolling plains with lakes. In Finland most of the country is used for human activities, in its majority by rainfed agriculture. The rarity of marine fish and mammals is also high. Challenges to biodiversity include air pollution in urban centers; water pollution from industrial waste and agricultural chemicals.
