Mongolia is a landlocked country in Northern Asia, with landscapes such as grassy steppe, mountain ranges, and semidesert and desert plains, including the Gobi Desert. In Mongolia most of the country is used for human activities, in its majority by rangeland.
Challenges to biodiversity include limited freshwater; air pollution; deforestation; overgrazing; soil erosion; water pollution; desertification and mining activities.
