Esteemed naturalist and biologist E.O. Wilson and co-founder of the Half-Earth Project appeared at the 2021 Global Live Concert at Central Park, NY as the guest of legendary singer-songwriter Paul Simon
Simon, who is also a Member of the Board of Directors of the E.O. Wilson Biodiversity Foundation, also performed at the Global Live Concert, a 24-hour live event broadcast across six continents, features activists and internationally recognized musicians in a global event to unite the world, defend the planet and defeat poverty.
“When I first heard Ed Wilson speak, he said something that really struck me. He said we have the ability to make this world a paradise. And I believe and he believes, we still have that potential. We know it’s going to be hard work but that’s where we are headed,” shared Paul Simon.
Before Wilson’s appearance, the Half-Earth Project was featured in a short film featuring Paula Ehrlich, President and CEO of the E.O. Wilson Biodiversity Foundation and Co-founder of the Half-Earth Project.
“The appearance of Half-Earth Project at Global Citizen Live which has performances from a huge lineup of the world’s biggest artists, including Billie Eilish, Meek Mill, Jennifer Lopez, Lorde, and of course, Paul Simon, help us to reach new audiences with a hopeful message and solution to ending the extinction threat,” said Ehrlich.
