E.O. Wilson Introduces Piotr Naskrecki as the “best naturalist in the world.”

E.O. Wilson and Piotr Naskrecki at a conference.

“In my judgment, the best naturalist in the world is Piotr Naskrecki,” said E.O. Wilson during Half-Earth Day 2019, introducing the Half-Earth Chair and Associate Director of the E.O. Wilson Lab in Gorongosa National Park.

“Now that diagnosis is not casual. It’s not just because I know him and like him so much as a friend,” Dr. Wilson said. “He is the person who is certainly is in the front rank of knowing the largest number of plants and animals and things about their biology.”

“He has gone, after distinguished work in other areas and other realms, to Gorongosa National Park and turned it into a giant laboratory with his efforts to bring fundamental biology into it.”

Please join the Half-Earth Project for a LIVE VIRTUAL HAPPY HOUR in Gorongosa National Park, Mozambique, where Half-Earth Chair Piotr Naskrecki and members of his team will share the extraordinary Gorongosa success story, a story that is inspiring and informing other conservation efforts in Africa and around the world, blazing the path to a Half-Earth future.

TAKE A TRIP WITH US to the other side of the world, Wednesday, May 6, at 9am PDT / Noon EDT. While it will be morning coffee or early lunch for our friends in the United States, it will be “happy hour” (6pm) Gorongosa time. Grab a latte—or a midweek mimosa—then join the conversation via Zoom (https://zoom.us/j/95135401996) and chat in your own questions, or watch the livestream on our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/eowilsonfoundation/).

Hosted by Dr. Dennis Liu, Vice President of Education for the E.O. Wilson Biodiversity Foundation.
