At the recent East-West Sustainability Summit in Hawaii, E.O. Wilson received the ‘Icon of Conservation’ award, which celebrates heroes of sustainability and conservation for their lifelong leadership in building a global conservation ethic. The award was presented during the “Inspiring Action for the Planet” award luncheon by His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco and Maya Soetero-Ng (President Obama’s sister). Others honored at the luncheon included, Sylvia Earle, Jane Goodall, and Ma Jun.

During the Summit, E.O. Wilson and Paula Ehrlich delivered keynote addresses on Half-Earth and the Half-Earth Project. The Summit brought together influential conservationists and philanthropists from around the globe.
