Paula Ehrlich and Alison Taylor featured at World Biodiversity Summit 2024 in New York
On September 26th, the fourth edition of the World Biodiversity Summit convened alongside the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) and Climate Week NYC. The program aimed to bridge the conversations surrounding climate and biodiversity and facilitate solutions, investments, innovations, and partnerships to tackle both crises, paving the way to a new green economy.
Paula Ehrlich, President and CEO of the E.O. Wilson Biodiversity Foundation, was invited to speak on the panel “Taking Stock of Nature Goals: Mapping Progress Towards COP16.” The session tracked progress toward implementing the Global Biodiversity Framework and its 2030 targets ahead of COP16 in Cali, bringing together cross-sector decision-makers to conduct a comprehensive analysis of our current trajectory and define the pathways to a nature-positive future within the next six years.
Alison Taylor, Chief Sustainability Officer of ADM, Climate Leader in Residence at Duke University, and E.O. Wilson Biodiversity Foundation Board member participated in the session “Greening Supply Chains: Implementing Nature-Positive Practices from the Top Down”. Panelists identified cross-sector collaboration opportunities, fostering the shift towards nature-positive supply chains. The session also spotlighted practical strategies, actionable insights, and successful case studies from industry leaders – from supply chain data mapping methods and metrics to policy frameworks and sector-wide initiatives.
