Tompkins Conservation

Date:Oct 10, 2016

Tompkins Conservation, led by Kris Tompkins, has created protected areas and parks throughout Argentina and Chile, with the goal of conserving large areas of habitat for biodiversity. The approach created by Tompkins Conservation has four main focuses: Park Creation, Ecological Restoration, Local Engagement, and Activism. Through these areas, parks are created that are ecologically resilient, economically profitable, socially beneficial, and politically relevant. Joining as a partner of the Half-Earth Project, Tompkins Conservation hopes to continue to protect large landscapes in South America, with the development of new parks in the Argentine Pantanal, and the Brazilian Atlantic Forest.
